Let me welcome you to my website and thank you for showing interest in my herd. My name is Brenda Scarborough and I live in Safford, Arizona with my husband Roy. We have just recently moved to Arizona from Idaho. We have been raising dairy goats since 2000. We originally purchased some Nubians for milk to feed calves. We then added Alpines and Lamanchas. We have since sold the Nubians and Alpines and now just have the one breed. We mainly use the goats for milk. The excess milk is fed to Holstein bull calves and pigs. The goats are fed high quality alfalfa hay and a high protein grain. They also have access to minerals.
TERMS: I am on DHIR (owner sampler) so official milk records are available upon request. My herd is CL and CAE negative. I test annually through WSU. I use a strict CAE prevention program. All births are attended. All kids are fed cow colostrum and pasteurized milk and are weaned at 3 months of age. I must keep the herd at a manageable size, so most of this years kid crop will be available for purchase. I will take deposits on bucks out of first fresheners, but I reserve the final decision as to whether I will sell them based on the evaluation of the does udder. A $100.00 nonrefundable deposit reserves your kid. Please make a 2nd choice. Deposits refunded on orders not filled-or moved to another available kid-your choice. Kids and deposits are forfeited when full payment isn't received within 14 days of birth announcement.
For the Packgoat enthusiast I do hold on to bucklings to be used for packing. They are wethered at a later date to avoid urinary problems. If interested in a buckling for packing you need to specify whether or not you want them disbudded or left with horns. They are disbudded within a week of birth. I require a $50.00 nonrefundable deposit to reserve the buckling of your choice.
